The Story
THIS IS A DIGITAL FILE. YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A PHYSICAL PRODUCT
A Communication Passport is an invaluable tool for sharing important information about a child in a clear, consistent, and personal way. It helps ensure that everyone supporting the child at home, in school, or in the community understands their needs, preferences, strengths, and the strategies that work best for them.
This resource is especially useful for parents and guardians of children with additional needs, as well as for educators and SNAs who want to build stronger, more supportive connections. It gives a complete picture of the child beyond academic skills, helping them feel understood, respected, and supported in all environments.
Educators can provide it to families to learn more about their child, and families can use it to introduce their child to new teachers, SNAs, or staff particularly at key transition points like starting primary school, changing classes, or moving to a new setting.
Created by the Everyday OT Ireland team, the Communication Passport reflects a neuroaffirmative, child-led approach and is designed to make collaboration easy between home and school.
